Victory— But At What Cost?
This is a fun, satisfying action from Zach Snyder. Both parts 1 and 2 are great, with very ambitious aesthetics that border on spiritual which is a plus if you’re into dreamy gore-fest battles (within its pg-13 rating).
Fantastic characters from a seasoned director/writer are giving some strong performances with effective, memorable delivery.
There is a downside, and it’s oddly enough the downside of part one AND part two, equally… possibly arising from making two movies instead of one… and that is: The. First. Third. Of. The. Film. Is. Boring. The dialogue, the content, is just borderline unwatchable. Feels like reading a massive tome that can never get going. So 40 minutes of the first movie and forty minutes of the second is some unvarnished filler. But hey, if you make it far enough, it is a pretty wild ride—
